About the Exhibition
Interview with a Glacier invites you into a speculative dialogue with disappearing Arctic ice. Featuring photographs derived from 3D scans of icebergs captured during the artist’s journey to the Arctic Circle, this exhibition merges abstract digital artifacts with imagined topographies.
A sound component accompanies the visuals: visitors are invited to check out an MP3 player and headphones from the front desk to hear the “voice” of the iceberg — a soundscape generated through machine learning, using field recordings collected in the Arctic Circle in 2024.
Through this multi-sensory installation, artist ashley middleton invites you to consider what vanishing landscapes might say if we learned how to listen.
