Each cyanotype is a unique physical reflection of the relationship between a chemical process, a rainy environment, and the artist. As the rain patterns the cyanotype it fixes an image for a brief moment in time. The fluid image, representative of the body’s liquid materiality, never remains the same.

The liquid recordings are modified by their environment, and evolve over time. Their infinite virtual potential makes them difficult to be narrowly quantified. When exposed to a bright sunny day the color darkens, and when exposed to a dark rainy day the color lightens.

The interrelations between yin and yang are fundamental to the production of the work and present a spiritual dynamic from where I consider the value of scientific tradition. In working through new phases of embodied knowledge, I developed these objects to offer an alternative measurement of time. Their speed of change is liquid, abstract, and cannot be solidified into forms of singularity.
